Project Manager Resume Example

Here’s a combination resume sample for Project Manager at an airline. This resume has an unusual twist: The job seeker, Anna (not her real name), is using it to return to a position she held several years ago.

Anna made some bold choices when building her resume. Take a look:

  • Combination resume format. Anna looked at the job posting and relied on her own experience at the airline to pick six skill headings that define the project management job she seeks. Then she grouped her achievement statements under those six skill headings to show that she has what it takes to excel in her new position.
  • Education. Even though she earned her college degrees many years ago, they are in a field that’s very relevant to her career goal. For that reason, she placed her Education section on page one, right under her Summary section.
  • Job chronology. The resume rule of thumb is to list jobs in reverse chronology (most recent job first, followed by the second most recent, and so on). Anna broke this rule of thumb by putting her jobs in actual chronology (most recent job at the end). This allowed her to highlight her airline job, which is highly relevant to her job objective.
